The phytodepuration is a treatment for domestic sewage which exploits the evapotranspiration of the soil and the vegetation. It also allows the humification of the organic matter in the absorbing beds and the utilization of the nutritive elements by the above vegetation and the microorganisms.
The IDROFLORA® System is an IDRODEPURAZIONE patent different from similar systems because of four fundamental and exclusive innovations:

- use of IDROFLORA®-Lite in the absorbing beds, which fosters nutritive elements cession to the above plants;
- use of the specific EPDM IDRO rubber membrane for the realization of the phytodepuration beds;
- use of multiple phytodepuration beds with the sequential functions of depuration and absorption;
- adjusted distribution of the incoming flow and the phytodepuration bed crossing thanks to pipe net for distribution and draining.

The flow chart of a standard plant inludes: static separator for oils and greases, decantation/digestion/clarification basin, one or more phytodepuration beds, possible final accumulation of the depurated water.
